ABOUT REAL ESTATE WA

RealestateWA, originally the Perth Real Estate Northern Guide (PRENG), was started to put advertising power back into the hands of real estate agents.

Before the advent of PRENG real estate agents were forced to commit advertising dollars  to media outlets that were a part of national organisations that did not have an involvement or interest in the local real estate industry, and that were solely profit focussed.

RealestateWA is the solution to that problem.

In 1997 a group of real estate agents launched PRENG, a newspaper for advertising their product, and owned by them. The mandate of the publication was simple.

• Provide cost effective advertising;
• Be owned and run by Western Australian based agents
• Be provided free direct to letterboxes

The first edition was twelve pages and was published on Friday, November 14, 1997. At that point the newspaper was only printed in black and white. Since its inception the publication has grown to an average of 44 pages pages regularly, all in colour.

It’s distribution has also grown. Originally circulated to 92,000 homes, RealestateWA now distributes over 108,000 copies a week to homes and offices in the northern coastal suburbs.

During 2007, our distributrion increased by 20% to include new estates such as Alkimos, Trinity, Capricorn at Yanchep.

Real Estate WA has also matured as a publication. Competing with industry heavy-weights such as The West Australian, The Sunday Times, and Community Newspaper Group, RealestateWA has created a competitive publication which offers a competitive and cost effective advertising medium.

Being owned by agents in the industry, RealestateWA continually provides the services that its advertisers are looking for.

From the shareholders, the real estate agents who collectively own RealestateWA, a board is selected periodically who oversee the production of the newspaper.

These real estate agents guide the direction they, and their peers, want the newspaper to take.
